Exterior Painting
The most important part of any exterior painting job is the preparation. If the preparation is not performed correctly then any top coat applied will fail to properly seal. There are several ways and tips on deciding what may be needed to properly paint your home and how to perform the paint application process.
The above criteria will play a role in determining what type of preparation will be needed. It could be as easy as a simple pressure wash, or as intricate as a full strip down to the bare wood. To begin, each house must be evaluated thoroughly. After that, we will be able to advise you as to which practice to employ. Any of our salespeople will be able to provide you with a recommendation on which process will best suite your home’s needs.
Prior to starting an exterior paint job we must first evaluate the condition of the house and ask the following questions:
- How old is the house?
- What type of paint was used on the last paint job; oil, stain or latex paint?
- Does the house have adequate ventilation?
- Is there a mold or mildew problem?
- Is the existing paint peeling and creating an alligator look?
- Is the existing paint cracking?
- Do you have any rotted wood on the house?
